Beef Bourguignon holds a special place in my family's French culinary traditions. Whenever I return to France during winter, I make sure to prepare this dish. Popularized in the United States by Julia Child, it is a classic of French cuisine. Its richness comes from generous amounts of Red wine and Cognac, along with pearl onions, carrots, and mushrooms. The alcohol content diminishes with cooking, making it suitable for all family members. It pairs wonderfully with mashed potatoes. Note that this dish is not gluten-free.
